    (k)ubuntu installation - go back - issue

has anyone of you ever noticed that when u are installing (k)ubuntu in text mode and use "go back" to get the options list at some point after setting up the partitions, and try to return where you left off, the installation will be thrown back to the partitioner no matter what you choose, and you have to re-format the partition to finish the installation

this happened to me when i got all the way to the part where you set up grub but i had forgotten on wich partition i installed kubuntu, so i used the go back option to take a peek at the partitioner, just to realize that i can't go back, i selected grub setup from the menu but it kept throwing me back to the partitioner, the same thing happens if you go back and select something different than the partitioner,
is there any way around this ?

that would sure be one solution , but it is quite annoying, there should be a warning or something after partitioning, like "caution passing point of no return !"
it's just not logical, keep in mind that the core system and all the software was already installed, and then i had to re-format the partition & install it all over again
