    Webkit

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering whether Konqueror is going to have webkit as its default rendering engine in KDE 4.1 (and therefore in Intrepid). I know KHTML has some features Webkit doesn't (partial CSS 3 support), but Webkit renders more websites correctly (most notably GMail). On Ars Technica I read that Webkit is going to be unforked? Could someone tell me if Konqueror will use Webkit in the future?

    Thank you.

Here, with the Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex pre-alpha / KDE 4.1 Beta 1, Konqueror is using KHTML.

Maybe this is the way ? You choose... > Konqueror session management + crash handler
    Q:
btw. Is konqueror 4.1 webkit based? I remember seeing some information that this will be case but it’s silent from that time.
    A:

The Webkit KPart can then be activated in systemsettings, at “Advanced > File Associations”: Select text/html at the left, and change the position of webkitpart in the “Embed” tab.

Something different > Foxkit Web Browser
    Depends on: KDE 4.x

    Description:
Foxkit is a KDE Web Browser written using WebKit, Qt, and KDE. Foxkit is still in early development...
