I'm pretty sure this is spam, but the supposed poster, Balaji, was the dude who helped me get my school's VPN connection up-and-running. I compared email addresses, and they're the same. Should Mr. Balaji be informed his login information has potentially been compromised (as well as maybe some of his more important information)?

yep it sounds like he has been hacked. you usually see that on M$ boxes.

either that or he helped u and then spammed u. Either that or a friend/relative on his computer sent that.
