    new Dell Inspiron 1525N

I want a new laptop that will run Kubuntu 7.10 ( plus 8.x later on ) and with working Wifi 802.11g.
I'm thinking about purchasing a new Dell Inspiron 1525N.
    Anyone have one?
Does the Dell come with 7.10 Pre-Installed or with M.$. Windoz?
What about the wireless, works or not?
Any help and/or advice would be Greatly Appreciated!

    Dell PCs Featuring Ubuntu

The Inspiron 1525N is one of the offerings. Ubuntu (Gnome) is what comes preinstalled, but you can always install kubuntu-desktop and have the option to boot into KDM or KDE.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Do you have the 1525N or know of one who does?

No. But you can rest comfortable if you purchase this PC from Dell. First, it's supported by Dell, second, it's warranted by Dell, and third, all component items 'on board' this PC will have been tested with the installed OS and just work. That said, you could still have some challenges with system components if you move from Gnome (Ubuntu) to KDE (Kubuntu) as some others have reported when they switched.

Contact Dell Customer Service. I'm sure they would be happy to answer any questions you have about this PC.
