I must admit, I've had no luck using Wine, and I'm confused about what runs and what doesn't run in Wine. Even though I've essentially stopped using any Windows applications, there are one or two I'd like to have in Kubuntu (for example, TurboTax and Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
I'd be interested in watching how this new application does.
There are many other Office suites that are free and do just as good a job.
For example, OpenOffice.org OR KOffice.
(Just google'em or check the repositories, if you're interested)
...and yes they can both read/write that other office suites' documents.
