    Drempels Screensaver, anyone have it?

    Hiya!

I know is the least of anyone's concern... but just wondering.

I got the Drempels screensaver many moons ago when I first got a Win95 machine and I have loved it ever since.

Anyone seen it for Linux? They have provided the source code...

If I knew how to make it work, I would do it myself... hmm.

The effects of the screensaver is very lovely, but it is basically a set of images that get swirled, twirled, zoom in, zoom out, look as if it is no longer a flat image, but sort of like a blanket laid over curves... then there is the blending from one image to another (seemingly selected randomly, since removing images does not effect how it functions.)

Hard to describe, but there is an animated screenshot on the web site, it will give you the idea (sorta) of what it does. They chose a bad image to use as the gif, very flat and well... gray, plus not long enough to really show off all of it's moves.

    Thanks for your time!

With me knowing nothing about anything remotely close to code, system structure and what not... um... how hard would it be?

    REQUIREMENTS
    ------------------------------------------
    -DirectX 5.0 or greater ( http://www.microsoft.com/download )
    -Windows 9x/ME/NT/2k operating system
-Your CPU (processor) must support the MMX instruction set.
Almost all CPU's faster than 300 MHz support this, and all
Pentium II or later chips do.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

I read that on the site but I am not sure why you are showing it to me here.

Is it the DirectX, the Win OS, the MMX? What part(s) of the requirements makes it an impossibility?

      Thank you for your time.

Because it's a Windows application. It runs in a Windows environment, not Linux.

          Sorry.

Other posts have made it sound like with source code pretty much any program could be made to work... or simulated.
My misconception... I'll drop the topic.

          Thank you for your time.
