    adept-manager applet

I used to have an applet/program in my control panel that notified me when there were updates to my applications and system software, but when I installed compiz it removed it from my control panel and placed it on my desktop. In the process of trying to get it off of my desktop and back onto my control panel I trashed it and don't know how to get it back. Does anybody out there no what program I am talking about and how to get it back onto my control bar.

I've searched through the applets that are available when you right click the control panel to edit it and I don't see it so I'm thinking that it is an application, but I don't know the name of it and thus don't know where to start looking for it.

    Thanks

It's not an applet, it's a program with a system tray icon. To start it, enter Konzole and type adept_notifier.

Also, it disappears only when you start compiz. If you have both set up to start with KDE, they work fine.
