    stupid UI ( well, user really ) trick

    So, I managed to remove the part of the panel where things like knetwork-manager, kwallet, kopete, etc. appear. After searching I can't find how to add it back in. The various programs are still running, but I don't get icons to access them.

    Any clues for the clue-lorn?

    Right-click on the panel>Add Applet to Panel>Notification Tray

      It's actually System Tray. Notification Area is the term GNOME uses. (And historically the original planned term for it in Windows).

          Thanks for the clarification, I'll try to remind myself to actually check the English locale rather than low-balling it with an on-the-fly translation from (poor) memory

          Yes, very Philippenneinian (although I'm pretty sure that's not a word)

            @dibl: hehe thanks!

            @kubicle: heh sorry for having to correct you. he might just be looking for the wrong tray. Anyway you don't have to check the English locale, you can just post, and I'll correct. :P

            P.S. It's Filipino (yeah, quite far from Philippines....)
