when I try to build an executable with "gcc" I get the message "The compiler cannot make executable". I have installed Kubuntu feisty 7.0.4 that uses gcc-4.1.2 base package.

- If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
