Change resolution??

Well, after the loading screen, the resolution turns into 800x600, but I can't turn it higher!!
please what can I do??

*OLD*Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've installed my Kubuntu with a very high resolution and my monitor can't display the OS. How can I change the res with the keyboard? I mean, in windows if you do this: Menu button>up>enter>tabx4>down, etc you CAN change it, but I'm not very familiar with the kubuntu yet.

I'm not sure if this works but you can try:

Ctrl + Alt and + or - changes screen resolution (higher/lower). Only if X-Windows server is configured for multiple resolutions.
