Excel to HTML howto

Hi there,

I need to do some Excel to HTML conversion regularly and I use Openoffice to do that, but there is always problem with table border and cell alignment, and redundant tags making the file size too big. I also tried Gnumeric but it doesn't support non English character well and some times crash. I wonder if there is other better options for me to do that.

Have you tried xlhtml ? (it is in the repositories)

The xlhtml program will take an Excel 95, or 97 file as input and
convert it to highly optimized html. The output is via standard out
so it can be re-directed to files or piped to filters or used as a
gateway on the internet.
