    Public keys (whatever they are!)

    Hi.
I'm playing with 'qemulator' and 'qemu' at the moment (and not doing very well) but the question relates to public key/s.

I followed the directions on the 'Qemulator' site for adding their repositories to Synaptic. There was also a mention of adding a public key so I followed those instructions too but got the following error on Synaptic

    An error occurred
    the following details provided:

    W:GPG error: http://www.uv.es feisty Release:
The following signatures could not be verified because the public key could not be verified because the public key is not available:
    NO PUBKEY 5D530DEA0ICCB361

    I had previously run:

    wget http://www.uv.es/cuan/repos/532190AF.gpg -0- | sudo apt-key add -

This did something but the cursor did not revert to the prompt!

So - bearing in mind I am still in 'novice' mode - what is going on?

    Any thoughts please?

    Thks

Let me put it this way: working "against all odds" for several years (with so-called dangerous horses, but that's not the point) teached me a lot of things, amongst others how to search and find solutions to so-called unsolvable problems ...

          Hi.

I've input the commands noted on the link using both the 'key' quoted on the Qemulator site and the key that came up in the original error on Synaptic. Can anyone tell me what is (am I doing) wrong as the system responds with:

          $ sudo gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-key 532190AF
gpg: requesting key 532190AF from hkp server pgp.mit.edu
gpgkeys: key 532190AF not found on keyserver
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
          gpg: Total number processed: 0

          Thanks all.

You may ask the guy in charge of the package to either tell you to which pgp server he has published the key he is using or make available an unsigned package.
