OVERCLOCKING KUBUNTU LINUX VM ON MICROSOFT VIRTUAL PC FOR MAC 7.02 (050607)ON PPC MAC MINI (1.5MGHZ G4) & ATI RADEON 9200 HOSTS
ON THE MAC MINI HOST > USING ATICELLERATOR II
set PROCESSOR 261 MGHZ + %4.5 MEMORY 198 MGHZ +%4.76
Within THE LINUX VIRTUAL MACHINE KUBUNTU guest
(w/ A PRE-MOUSE-BUG KERNEL!) EVEN THOUGH VIDEO card is S3
use ATI OVERCLOCK http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show...?content=47796
set PROCESSOR 259 MGHZ MEMORY 197 MGHZ (or whatever you choose to risk)
Seems like it shouldn’t work (because virtual machine has S3 not ATI video card)
but it does speed up the Kubuntu...so in this scenario the bottleneck is the video it would appear!
TEMPERATURE MONITOR (SOFTWARE-SYSTEME)
REPORTS FROM SMART DISK SENSOR OPERATION COOLER WHENEVER
A VPC VM ON (XP OR LINUX) >>>ABOUT 10 DEGREE F. COOLER
(incidentally)
This makes the virtual machine appreciably faster (useful) and
appears not to actually overclock the Host...at your own risk of course.
Coming soon >> how to set up XP or Linux Kubuntu as Virtual machines
NOT USING SHARED Networking setting on VPC for MAC PPC 7...
(hint use 'Default' setting) The latter was rather pesky to figure out.
