Cincinnati Bell Wireless -- but it's not really a carrier problem, it's a Motorola PhoneTools (only for Windows) problem.

That said, I'm not a fan of motorola products. Sorry you're having such trouble with yours.
Yeah, I liked my old Nokia real well, but it was TDMA and eventually became obsolete. The Razr is a decent phone, and PhoneTools works great under Windows, like it's supposed to. I dunno about OS X -- that's not a feature of my life. Too bad Moto4Lin isn't developed more -- it seemed like a good start, but way too tough to make it work -- you need a computer science degree to get it to connect, never mind transferring a file.
Are you using a usb cable, or are you using the bluetooth? If you're using the usb, you might have better luck with the bluetooth, since that's supposed to be a standard but the usb stuff can vary once you get past the port and the voltage I believe. I seem to have had some luck with the kdebluetooth package, but I also have bluez-pin and bluez-utils installed. If you haven't, consider trying those out.

Thanks for the info. Sorry though, there's still not a Linux driver yet for your model. I have a ScanJet 4370c and it works. I did some poking around and still can't find someone who's got theirs working. If I find anything new I'll let you know.

Do you know that you can convert excel and word templates to Open Office templates?

It is USB, and I think you're probably correct, but I didn't put in any bluetooth capability when I built my desktop system, so I'm kinda stuck with the cable. But it's fine with VMWare Player, so no worries. 8)

Re: Anybody here still using Windoze?

I just managed to get my laptop dual-booting last night, and I'll probably keep it that way until I'm fully convinced that VirtualBox or Vm Workstation can run my games as fast as actually booting Windows.

Other than for gaming, though, I use Feisty for everything.

There is a very very simple solution to the bluetooth. They sell these amazing usb devices called a bluetooth dongle. I bought a cheap one from RS when I still worked there, which was a foreign brand that RS packaged up for exclusive US sale. It worked beautifully, calls itself Bluespoon.

                  Thanks Princey
For taking the time to look around for me. I have looked also trying to find someone that got theirs working but no luck. It is a good scanner i wished I could get it working in Kubuntu / Ubuntu.

                  Thanks Again

Is that serious? Sheesh. It's like they want the terrorists to win or something. And besides, the bad guys always run Windows and the good guys always run Mac. 24 tells me so, it must be true.

I keep Windows around... very occasionally it has a use, mostly gaming. But it's not stable enough to be used as my main OS, so ever since I installed Breezy Badger nearly two years ago, it's been relegated to a distant second on my desktop.

It only happened once, but once was enough. > After that, I set /boot/grub/menu.lst to give windoze by default.

Gamer here, so yes I do for only that (and maybe testing between the two OSs). Other than games, I can truthfully say that I use Kubuntu the most at home on all of my systems and the entire family is quite pleased. No regrets.

My games are probably the ONLY thing keeping Windows around my place.
I can't wait until the start developing games appropriately for Linux. (at least the ones I want)

It really ticks me off when I can't get rid of windows. Sometimes there is just no other option.
For example I am taking a course where I need to download a I guess DRM PDF from follett.
It will ONLY work on Linux which is really bull when you think about it so I am stuck once again because of this type of thing.
