I started using KDE as my default desktop environment a few day ago and; as I expected, am very pleased with the performance increases over GNOME. The only problem I have encountered is that when I enable the power savings option for my monitor, once it shuts the monitor off I can't wake it back up. I tried restarting my X server with ctrl-alt-backspace but my keyboard, trackball and monitor won't respond. Power savings works fine in GNOME but I can't seem to find out why it won't in KDE. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Problems with X server and montior power savings
Just a random guess, do you have Option "DPMS" in the "Monitor" Section of your /etc/xorg.conf file. I'm not sure whether that is required in order to set power management in System Settings. And, if it's not, I'm not sure whether that causes a problem with power management.
