What graphical improvements would you suggest for the next Kubuntu release?

I'm happy and grateful for all the hard work that has been done on Kubuntu. I read a few comments on the Feisty feedback wiki page suggesting that some graphical improvements would be welcome.

    Here's my suggestion so far:

Kubuntu looks great. I, for one, wouldn't complain if it looked even better. What improvements would you suggest (if any)?

I, for one, would personally prefer a different K Menu icon. Among the offiicial Ubuntu distros, we're the only one that uses the default KDE icon (although, I have nothing against the icon). But the chances of that happening are nil.

Maybe we could also use a different usplash theme, but that's more difficult to do since the theme is tied down to what usplash itself can do.

Other than these, I think Kubuntu looks very fine indeed. It started to have it's own "identity" when it moved to a purple color scheme. While I'm no fan of purple (I'm a blue-person), I think it's a nice step towards developing Kubuntu's unique visual identity.

... oh, and I prefer the Nuvola icons over Crystal SVG any day...

I personally think the wallpaper need to be improved...

For kubuntu dapper I really like the default wallpaper, however, it was changed in kubuntu Edge. If the default wallpaper does change for every version I will have no complain, but the wallpaper in the Edge still there in the Feisty...

Oops, I personally think that the default wallpaper is very important, since this is the first thing anyone will have to see when trying out the distribution.

For details, the centre of current wallpaper is too bright, IMO all ubuntu-based distribution should have a darker wallpaper than that. This is also the trend of Debian-based systems.

Also note that the Konsole of KDE is black-background, while the gnome console is white-background. This hints that KDE-based distribution should have a dark background by default instead of a light one.

I really think some Kubuntu themes should be included as well with the default install. I for one like to have a nice big Kubuntu symbol up on my desktop with colors to match so i can wear my colors, and show off my preferred distro proudly.

          i'm such a linux nerd..........

@pansz: Start a konsole. Click on Settings>Schema: change to any of a wide variety of color schemes.

In general: I agree that the K button is less than eye catching. It seems to clash with every icon theme that I like. Personally, I hate the purple default BG almost as much as the brown Ubuntu BG. That's why I use background images to produce separate wallpapers for each of my 8 desktops.

              I'm eagerly awaiting KDE 4!
