kubuntu and FreeBSD sharing /home

I am currently using Kubuntu (edgy) and have /home on it's own HD partition

I want to install FreeBSD on the same computer so I can play with both.

I want to know if I can use the same /home or do I have to setup a separate HD partition for the /home for FreeBSD?

I will use different logins for kubuntu and freebsd.

I'd say so - simply because BSD is not Linux (just in case you've missed that).

Thanks I did know that kunbuntu is not Unix but I thought maybe they used the same disk formatting.

dont even think of it....especially if you havent used bsd before......one of the easiest ways is to give it its own space (partition) and let it autoformat........and know that you wont have access to the bsd files from linux and vice versa, iirc....two different file systems

i wouldnt even recommend saving one home for two linux distros given the possibilities of permissions snafus and alternate versions fo the same apps......
