    Driver Help

    Greetings Linux World.....
So, I am trying to migrate away from Windows.....

I am trying to locate drivers for my video card and sound card.

    Using ABIT NF-M2S Mainboard
    NVIDIA GeForce 6100+405 Chipset
    on board audio as well....

Can someone please help locate those drivers?

    Thanks in advance.

OK, you need to enter the Windows 12-step recovery program, pyorki!

You're not going to be chasing down driver disks in Linux-world like you did in Win-world, although getting the right driver installed (eventually) for your video card is important to get the best performance out of it.

The first thing to do is to install whichever version of (K)Ubuntu you wish to try, and find out whether you actually have any driver problem that needs to be addressed immediately. If you can get your system working reasonably in either "VESA" graphics mode, or else with the native "nv" driver, that will be a great beginning for you and then if you search this forum or the Ubuntu forom, you should find about a thousand versions of the instruction for installing the Nvidia proprietary driver. For example, here's one that I put up just the other day (5th post down the thread):
