Clean up Duplicate Files

Hi all,
I have kubuntu running on a file server. When I backup my main machine's home folder (also kubuntu) to the file server, I create a folder with the date of the backup. So, for example, I have two folders Feb1 & Mar1
Often, these two folders will contain the same files. I'd like to compare the folders, note the identical files and delete the duplicate copy.

Is there a way to do this in Konqueror or from the command line. Either will be fine. Then, I'll create a script to do most of this for me.

Have you tried fdupes ?

man fdupes tells:

FDUPES(1) FDUPES(1)

NAME
fdupes - finds duplicate files in a given set of directories

SYNOPSIS
fdupes [ options ] DIRECTORY ...

DESCRIPTION
Searches the given path for duplicate files. Such files are found by
comparing file sizes and MD5 signatures, followed by a byte-by-byte
comparison.

Have you tried fdupes ?

Thanks for this tip, I've been looking for something to do this as I migrate all my files off of 5 computers to a FreeNAS.
