The first reply there mentions the networking applet being removed. As does the second
Though I did not lose my laptop's connection - accidental foresight

I guess I didn't look things over well enough, lol. I ended up doing a kubuntu minimal install and just added the apps I wanted. I had burned the disk at my mom's for my son's computer. Public WiFi at my place limits me... KDE Neon refused to install on my son's 15 year old HP desktop, kubuntu installed just fine. Guess I will wait for the official 20.04 release and give it another shot.

I end up with a nasty looking resolution (forget now, will need to reboot to check). I had to install Kubuntu 20.04 on a newly created little partition to get the default resolution back, so sooner the better.
You could have solved that problem in KDE neon 18.04 by upgrading the kernel manually to 5.4. Alternatively you can manually install amd's driver from their web site on any 18.04.4 distro with a small hack.

Not completely, it just removes the systray applet, which mostly only effects wifi users

          however:

I use WiFi. Interestingly, kubuntu 20.04 with it's newer kernel detects more networks.
