Thanks. By default, Yakuake uses a window that is considerably larger than the konsole size I use.

      Added:

Okay, just installed yaquake and used it to run my pkcon commands. The same behavior is exhibited. I checked, and I have the same version of packagekit-tools that you have.

Odd. Must be related to the Konsole.

        Code:

        ii [COLOR=#FF5454][B]konsole[/B][/COLOR][COLOR=#000000]-kpart 4:19.04.2-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build20 amd64 Konsole plugin for Qt applications[/COLOR]

Just tried again, in a full-screen konsole, using the pkcon commands. No difference. the anomalous behavior remains.

I checked, and both konsole and konsole-kpart are the same versions as yours. I'm going to chalk this behavior up to "oh well, it's just me". It isn't a real problem anyway; just a visual annoyance.

It is odd though. I saw it on a Kubuntu 18.04 install that I have in a VM, but it doesn't happen on my desktop KDEneon User Edition.

It's interesting that you observed this as well with the OS running in a VM, which is my use case; I run KDE neon User Edition in an Oracle VirtualBox VM. I wonder then, if somehow it's the VM that is causing this odd behavior?

It was pretty awful on my Neon until I resized my yakuake window, but it has been a while. it comes from Ubuntu, ie not touched by Neon, so maybe Plasma's font rendering in Konsole has improved, except maybe for the virutal drivers in a VM?

Having said that, running it on my 19.04 PC, with a 4K tv as a monitor and a decent enough AMD graphics card, it looks like poop, and it has the same dimension as on my laptop - 50% width, but the TV has been scaled and font dpi adjusted. The laptop has the stock settings for the 1080 screen. It is basically my Steam box and not much else, so I seldom access a terminal on the desktop, let alone run pkcon.

heck, I don't use pkcon because i haz uber 1337 skillz, or something, and don't have to use that ugly thing
