    Upgrade testing time

    https://community.kde.org/Neon/BionicUpgrades

DO NOT ATTEMPT if you have an encrypted /home, unless you know how to install software (ecryptfs-utils) from the command line in a vt, as you will not be able to log in, at least for most folks. It seemed to work for some before but we are seeing it again.
Of course Ubuntu drops support for this in 18.04, preferring full disk encryption (which is better any way)

I am not seeing many bug reports on this one (very few, actually), so maybe it is something specific to Neon

I have installed KDEneon 18.04 to my main PC and have begun the change-over to make it my default.

I have run into ZERO issues so far including after yesterdays huge round of updates. I cannot say the same for Kubuntu (baloo has been giving me fits) so I'm looking forward to a smooth transition to Neon 18.04

The upgrade from 16.04 to 16.04 breaks for those using encrypted home dirs, as Ubuntu dropped support for ecryptfs, and the upgrade does not include ecryptfs-utils, which was moved into Universe (ie not ubuntu-supported) so it leaves you unable to log in to a desktop session.

I may just reinstall with full disk encryption, which is better anyhoo. So I better see about un-encrypting my current /home I guess

LOL ya right , I was apprehensive about that , but it lives in a BTRFS world , so a snapshot and give it whirl and it was good .

I may just wipe it and do a clean user install .
