Can't get single-column folder view since 6.2

Since the installation of 6.2, I can't get the folder view sized down to a single column with a scrollbar. It insists on having visible the icons for all the files in the folder, with no scrollbar.

I have it set to small icon size, narrow label width, 2 text lines, arranged top to bottom, aligned left. But I've tried other arrangements, to no avail.

Bug or (more likely) error on my behalf.?

We're talking about the folder widget, correct?

I think it's definitely a bug. When I try to go narrower than 3 columns it stops, then the plasma shell crashes for second. It will also have a "ghost" box outline that follows the cursor around if you click in the widget but not on an icon.

I also cannot add the weather widget at all.
