[RESOLVED] Upgraded today. Still having very slow user log in for my account..

Ran the upgrade this morning, took 2-3 hours to do it plus sorting through the sources files and cleaning them up.

For quite some time now, MY user account takes way longer to log in than the other user account on my system. Like 30-40 seconds from password to desktop vs. 3-5 seconds for the other users.

My assumption has been that some hold-over setting or something I tinkered with log ago is the issue. I had held off from the "nuclear" option of wiping my home and starting again, hoping the upgrade would automagically fix it. It did not.

The issue is I have no clue how to determine what exactly is causing the hold up.

Any idea on where to start looking? I though I might begin by just deleting the plasma config and seeing if a fresh desktop would solve it. I'm open to suggestions...

Now I'm having log-in crashes and the crash report tool just sits there on a black screen. I eventually got it to boot up and log in again...

The other users wouldn't log in either, so this must be KDEneon problem. It even rebooted my system a couple times.

I'll wait for some updates before rebooting again

Just for comparison, I upgraded my KDE neon (running in a VM) this morning: 300+ packages updated; and I'm not having any issues.

what does "ps -elf" show you?
        Or, "systemd-analyze"?

Solved by deleting my plasma config in my user folder and re-doing my desktop set up.

I had two weather widgets that apparently are not compatible with the current plasma or just buggy. Every time I try to put one on my new desktop, the crashes plasma.

Probably had some older left-over cruft from Plasma 5 that was causing the slow loading.
