[SOLVED] Update 6/21/2018 for 5.13.1 has locked up Discover

The Discover update notifier says there are 9 packages to update.

Load discover and actually find 16 application updates and 5 system updates. So I click on Update and nothing happens. Then I click on X, to close and it says:

Could not close the application, there are tasks that need to be done.

Discover Tasks is (0%). So, between rock and hard-place - what to do now?

Update from the command line and look for error messages. Else kill it with ctrl-alt-esc. I think all the updates from today came from Ubuntu, I didn't have any problems, though some packages came in as I was updating, so it hadda run twice.

Thanks claydoh. I used ctrl-alt-esc which gave me a red skull cursor. I clicked the X in Discover and it closed. I opened Discover again and this time it showed 17 application updates and 7 system updates. I must have caught things in the middle of the update. Working fine now.

That is one reason why I always use the CLI
sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade

to do the updating.

Neon recommends using:

pkcon refresh
pkcon update

(Use pkcon update -y to avoid having to confirm every step of the way)
