kworker is cpu-hog

I understand that kworker has nothing to do with KDE. Mine is using 40% of my cpus now and this is something new -- at least, recent.

I'm running Neon with

$ uname -a
Linux jon-neon 4.13.0-37-generic #42~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 7 16:03:28 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I can't change to another system because I still can't find the appropriate grub partition at boot time. Refind gets to the latest system, but the neon grub it indicates is not the latest one written.
