Don't rush it! I'd rather it be well baked than early!

Well, the point I made badly was that users will get a notification with an upgrade button, so running manual commands should not be needed.

Of course if you prefer to do such upgrades on the command line, that will be possible as well.

And, knowing I can depend on Btrfs to restore from a bad upgrade, I am going to violate my own advice and do an upgrade to 18.04 instead of a fresh install. Licking my chops in anticipation! Now get back to work!

Doesn't seem to be officially released yet, but the bionic repos are up for kde neon user edition: http://archive.neon.kde.org/user/dists/

I already upgraded, but of course it's safer to wait until officially announced (as there may still be issues with upgrading...I didn't experience any major problems, but YMMV, as always).

                    Yaaaa!
                    The Neon 18.04 is out!
                    nana

                    EDIT:
I was browsing KFN on my iPhone when I saw a banner advertising the release of KDE Neon 18.04.
When I got onto my laptop and did "sudo do-release-update" I was presented with "no new release found". I browsed the KDE Neon download site and did not see any indications of 18.04

There was a call for upgrade testing. Mine failed, but due to an unrelated bug in 18.04.

I noted in irc that Riddell is away for a couple of weeks so no new news on a release at the moment.

Well, that news means that we might be getting Neon 18.04 around August 1st. Possibly even by my birthday, 8/8.

                        Don’t want it rushed, though.

I want Neon from Mar 20th (my first post), but no success. About must migrate to Kubuntu 18.04 - minimal install. I do not understandt why there is no official release information. Beta iso no exist. Never ending story!

Patience, Padwan! The devs will release it when it is well baked, not before. You wouldn't want it any other way, would you?
