FF93 lost audio on Internet videos.

After boot up this morning FF93 would not play the audio portion of an online video.
The only change from last night, when things worked OK was the installation of wine and winetricks, but I haven't used wine yet, so no config changes have taken place.
I checked with Mozilla support and their only suggestion was to be sure that the "settings --> Privacy & Security --> AutoPlay --> Default for all websites: Allow audio and video" was set, and it was.
Checked the alsamixerGUI and all settings were good. Audio for apps is normal. FF93 plays audio and video for local videos accessed through the "File --> Open File" menu option.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Well, I purged FF93 from my system and then located every reference to firefox on my system and deleted them. I rebooted and then installed FF93 again.
Same problem. No sound on any Internet website, but local files play fine. Konqueror plays YT videos with sound very nicely but doesn't have all the features of a good browser.
So, I installed the AppImage of LebreWolf and am running it.

What about your user configs for FF?

What do you mean by local files playing fine, in terms of playing audio/video files using Firefox? I'll assume you mean you are using FF to open the video files.?

If not, are you sure FF has not simply been muted in the Systray applet, or by a stray click on that oh-so-faint sound icon overlay on the FF icon on the task manager?
(this overlay can be toggled off in the Task Manager settings)

Checked that, and the "os so faint" speaker icon, and about:config, Any video on the web -- no sound. Download a video and then play it -- sound.

EDIT:
I found the problem. I checked again when a video was played and found that even local video files would not play the audio. My previous statement was a mis-recollected memory. I have a lot of those lately.
I noticed that while I had pulse audio installed I did not have pavucontrol. I installed it and with FF93 running it showed immediately that the FF93 audio was muted. I clicked the mute button it displayed and the audio began playing immediately.

With pulseaudio muting FF93 audio my keyboard controls (Fn+F8 to toggle mute, Ctl+UpArrow and Ctl+DownArrow) didn't work. With the pulseaudio mute removed they do.

That was the final problem in my KDE Neon installation.
