    Ext4 gets another boost

    Hi

For those of you upgrading from older version of kubuntu, and wondering (and asking) what filesystem to choose for / , /home and /data, this may be of interest:

Ext4 is getting massive support from Google, and that includes hiring Ext4's creator and switching Google itself from ext2 to ext4. My usual recommendation, based on benchmarks I've seen and the level of support, is ext4. I think things will only get better for ext4 after Google's involvement ...

I've never had a negative impact using Ext4. All my Linux partitions are on it.

I'm using two testing systems I have had to power cycle my computer for various reasons unrelated to file systems. Ext4 never flinched.

I've never lost data or had any corruption...Just my experience.

BTW, thanks for the link. A good read. And now that Google is on board, it can only get better!
