I'm an extremely new user of Kubuntu and linux in general. So, if your an expert feel free to jump in and correct my fumbling. I was so pleased to find that my IAxe Usb guitar functions on my new linux installation that I felt compelled to share the steps I took. (This was difficult for a novice user like me, but then it's only been a few day since I started with linux)
IAXE Kubuntu installation
/////////Fix up your sound system/////////////
1) open a root terminal
2) type in gedit /etc/modules
3) paste in the following lines
snd-usb-audio
snd-seq-device
snd-seq-midi
snd-seq-oss
snd-seq-midi-event
snd-seq
4) save and close the file.
this will take effect when you restart, i think.
but if you don't want to restart then cut and paste
the following in to your root terminal
modprobe snd-usb-audio
modprobe snd-seq-device
modprobe snd-seq-midi
modprobe snd-seq-oss
modprobe snd-seq-midi-event
modprobe snd-seq
/////////Test your hardware///////
5) plug in you IAxe if it isn't already
6) click on you mixer icon in the system tray
7) open the mixer and select USB AUDIO .......
////////Install Awesome linux software
8) install qjackctl, jackd and basically everything associated with jack.
9) install ardour-gtk
