This is particularly about the Yahoo IM in Telepathy.
a) The yahoo, itself, IM avatar does not hook into Telepathy, one will have to add the avatar that is used at Yahoo for them to be the same.
b) Telepathy/go available (will not work offline) /wrench/instant message settings/highlight the Yahoo account(the normal Yahoo smiley will be there and will not change / edit identity/
In the edit identity panel one sees the supplied avatar and on the image at the bottom right is a teeensy weeensy little down arrow, so click the avatar and one will see:
a) load from file
b) clear
navigate to the avatar and select it, then apply and ok. The avatar will then appear when one is online(available) . If one is offline it does not appear.
I don't know that there is much else to say, but if anyone has questions, please feel free to ask.
