For some reason, one cannot generate an "outline" in LibreOffice that give the text of all the slides like one used to be able to do in OO or in MS Ppt.
If one opens the LO file, it can be a ppt or a pptx in Kpresenter, or if one is in Kpresenter and one then saves as an "xml" file ( be sure to save ANOTHER NAME) then one sees a "folder".
This folder is what USED to be available for one when MS first came out with docx. It has all that "xml" stuff in the folder.
The folder is entitled what you put in as the save title.
Open the folder and you will see a sheet that says "content.xml".
It is the text from the presentation.
Click it and it will open in Konqueror.
However, it is not formatted in any way shape or form.
But all of the text is there.
Note: (I tried to open this with all of the available apps that I have and either it wouldn't open or it would give all the formatting for the Kpresenter xml file but not the presentation format itself.)
If anyone has a solution to get the text out as "lines" with a "return" I would GREATLY appreciate having the heads up.
This problem with LO Impress and Kpresenter is a real pain for me because I have normally copied out the text to give out to the students as an outline, gradually reducing the amount of text as the semester goes on so that they can learn how to "take notes" and actually feel empowered that they can, indeed, take notes.
I have a lot of legacy ppt lectures that I am reshuffling for the new textbook and this really is just a pain. >
But, one can at least get the text out using Kpresenter.
