This is MUCH simpler than with the other desktop (Trinity) of Kubuntu.
There is an account wizard in mail / tools which takes one stepwise through the setup.
There are just two "catches" to it.
The words sending and receiving have changed to incoming and outgoing.
Just use the appropriate IMAP, SMTP settings from my other thread.
However, when it is finished it doesn't work. The "setup" is in Kmail but when you check nothing is obtained.
You will have to go to the account setup and edit and change the outgoing port to 587 it keeps the default 485 which does not work. Also you will have to change security on sending to TLS and Plain.
After that it should work.
The wizard also has options for POP, etc. so I assume that the same will hold for those also. Again, it may be that the wizard assumes a certain port number and security type and that should be checked if Kmail does not work immediately.
If a moderator finds an error in this please correct it and leave a note. If anyone else finds an error please post and I will change it. If a more experienced person has comments please post them because I am not an expert on this.
