Kubuntu 5.10 keyboard freeze during logout

I've installed KU 5.10 on an Athlon XP 2400+
kernel K7 2.6.12.9 and from today (yesterday there wasn't this problem) when I logoff an user and back to the user list (I've switched off theme to have user lists) keyboard doesn't work at all.

I've to reboot.

Any ideas?

Today I've installed Lame and an ogg library, can be the problem?

I've seen that the keyboard isn't freeze at all:
the fact is typing the password when the keyboard is freezed the password is written in the text-mode tty1 at the login place, this is a security hole, in fact the password is visible to everyone, and a simple program can grab it, isn't?

So I've seen that pressing ctrl-alt-F8 and then ctrl-alt-F7 it back to the user list with the correct keyboard that write to the graphical password place.
