can't play mp3 files directly from my mounted Windows Partition

    can't play mp3 files directly from my mounted Windows Partition

    why can't i play my .mp3 files directly in my mounted windows partition?

    instead, i have to copy the .mp3 files in my linux partition for it to work.

    thanks for bearing with me...(new linux user here )

    by the way, i was using XMMS...

    but i was able to solve the problem.. after a lot of searching in googles.

    i installed gstreamer0.8-mad for amarok from the universal repository and walla... it's already working.

      if u did not had gstreeamer-mad than are u sure that mp3 played fine in amarok even from Linux driver ??

        It sounds like a permissions issue. Have you tried this?

          XMMS was able to play my mp3's.. but i do have to copy it from my windows partition to my linux. but after installing gstreamer-mad.. amarok was able to read and play my mp3s from my windows partition.
