media:/ shows USB devices as harddiscs and not removable media

hi,

when I installed breezy preview, SD or CF memory cards that I plugged into my USB card reader were shown as removable devices (USB memory stick icons) in the media:/ storage device view of konqueror. When plugged in, there were respective icons on the desktop, too.

Since I upgraded to final, the behaviour of KDE changed in this regard: Now when I plug in a memory card, a new konqueror window pops up showing the CF card e.g. as media:/sda1. There is no icon on the desktop, and all memory card slots are shown in the media/: storage device view as harddiscs.

Does anyone know how to change this back to the old behaviour of the desktop ?

Hi,

This a know problem with KDE 3.4.3 (media:/ does not make use of HAL) and according to what I know, a fix will come soon.
We all have to be patient
