I used ndiswrapper to get my broadcom chipset to work but for some reason, when I try to deactivate my ethernet adapter, it won't let me at all. I type in the password and all it won't let me choose either my wireless or ethernet adapter. I can type iwlist scan on the konsole and it'll scan fine but I can't connect to without activating the wireless. In gnome, I was able to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Activating/Deactivating networks.
Maybe you're suffering from this bug: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=8681
The only way I know that works out of this is the edit your /etc/network/interfaces file.
