Black Screen on reboot

I've been looking on lots of pages but could not find a simmilar problem that had an answer to it. So here it goes.

I installed Kubuntu on my laptop. Everything worked great. When he wanted me to take out the cd and reboot he shut down, ... not completely. The light was still on, but there was no more action.
I thought it could be my system and not the software.

When I reboot my laptop he still does this. He gives me a blackscreen and waits for eternity.

I can normally work in Kubuntu and even shutdown normally, its just the reboot he has a problem with.

Can anyone help me ?

How did you shutdown?

Can you try, from a konsole, "sudo shutdown -r now"

I tried through the interface, and through the console. Both gave me the same problem.
