In recent days the elementary OS team has released the second beta of the new version 0.2 Luna distribution that is based on Ubuntu 12.04 which has been integrated in the new Pantheon Desktop Environment. Pantheon Desktop Environment is a desktop environment developed to be lightweight and intuitive with several built-in effects and a simple look and minimal. The new Pantheon Desktop Environment allows then to have a complete desktop environment customizable through the new Switchboard from which you can also operate in the management of dockbar Plank and much more.

Have you tried it? I've gotten leary of installing different desktops because it's so difficult removing them if I don't like it.

no, i just ran across it because i woke up in the middle of the night.

I was planning to reinstall Ubu on an old Satellite lappy just to play with the Unity interface, which I detest, btw, but think I'll do this now! lol

I'll post back when I see what happens.
