check your keyboard layout in settings - laptop

LOL, if something is going wrong always follow two rules first:

    a) check the hardware, even if it is only checking the power cord!
    b) check the "settings".

This was brought home to me by the lab assistant to whom I loaned my Toshiba Laptop.

I NEVER....use any kind of "key combinations" in things like word processors, I only use the mouse.

Well, as noted in another thread, the lab assitant uses a lot of "key combos" .....which I thought was somewhat amazing...

Today, I was washing beakers and the lab assitant was doing inventory.

Several times the cursor would jump up or down in the page with some kind of key combinations, and, also, sometimes a sentence was copied to another position in the document.

I assume that this happened because the person types SO FAST!! And that a finger tip inadvertently hit the side of one key before the intended key.

So...I checked in settings, and for some reason, the keyboard was generic 101 key so I changed it to Toshiba Satellite Toshiba 3000 and the behaviour went away.
