Kubuntu updated my ATI V4800 driver just fine but I am going nut's trying to get the resolution issues ironed out. I can and have my fonts and icons set except for the display font of the active window in Firefox, and the icon size of the tool bar at the top of any window I open.
I might have to do a re-install due to another issue [posted in help the new guy] but I know I will get back to this one either way.
Does anyone know which 'Catalyst' version is currently green lighted by Ubuntu/Kubuntu? I think it might help me to use that software to control my resolution via the ATI card instead of just KDE.
As always thanks in advance for any and all help
I have tried resetting the resolution and making the new choice the default but when I do a re-start the resolution returns to 1600x1200. I've tried adjusting fonts and icon size to try an live with this setting but it is listed as (Auto) which I think might be the card itself.
Does anyone have any idea(s) on what I might try to do next? At 1600 x 1200 on a 17" display size CRT the borders of my windows with the scroll bars are very very tiny.
