I recently switched to Kubuntu 6.10, upgraded to 7.04, and am very impressed with Kubutu. However, I was surprised to find that the Gnucash packages in the Ubuntu repositories are a few versions older than the current 2.0.5. (I was using 2.0.5 in Mepis and Debian.) I've seen Ubuntu/Kubuntu form posts recommending manual compiling of 2.0.5, and posts showing mixed results. It seems like unnecessary trouble given the availability of 2.0.5 binaries elsewhere.
1. How can I suggest that Ubuntu make Gnucash 2.0.5 available?
2. Is it possible to add a Debian repository? My purpose would be to install Gnucash 2.0.5 using the Debian packages.
Thank you.
