lol this is just well...
A) I noticed that there have been a LOT of Akonadi updates on Neon Dev Stable, which is my "work across the room standing up with a cup of coffee and an "airmouse" on the television thing".
So I thought I'd give Kontact another whirl and ...well the important thing is that it does not take a .csv file so I did a conversion and it imported it but...no dates in the calendar.
So, I tried EVERY calendar app in synaptic and either they were simplistic, or they just didn't work or wouldn't import the .csv file.
So...there is a spankin' new app called "Software" that has appeared on neon so I thought I'd do that...
There was gcal, which is a GNOME calendar...well it is in Synaptic but is a GNOME app so I didn't even go to the trouble to try it...
but "Software" said it was good soooo...ok...
It imported the .csv file IMMEDIATLY AND...AND...AND...
gave me the temperature outside without even asking! :0
a GNOME app works!!!!
what can I say... sigh...
