How to remove Ubuntu related staff

I upgraded from 17.10 to 18.04 and I see this in my login screen:

    and this packages:

Is it ok if I do sudo apt purge ubuntu-* ? and sudo apt purge gnome-* ?
In the list the only gnome- package I installed manually is gnome-shell-pomodoro which I can reinstall after those purges.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance.

The "gnome" packages should be safe to remove, but some of the "ubuntu" packages (like ubuntu-standard and -keyring) are installed by default on both kubuntu and ubuntu, so they are not ubuntu specific.

However, "gnome-shell-pomodoro" depends on gnome-shell (among other things), so that is probably the reason why all that gnome stuff is installed on your system. And it will bring those back if you reinstall the package back after removing the dependencies.

If you just want to remove the "Ubuntu" session options, purging the "ubuntu-session" package should do that.

I really appreciate your fast and clear response.
I did purge all gnome-* and ubuntu-session gone away with it (wierd?)

      Thank you very much!
