I am running Neon User Edition.
I downloaded QupZilla 2.1.2 AppImage, marked it executable, and double clicked on it. It came up quickly but didn't recognize my Internet connection. I went to the Proxy configurations and noted that it was set for manual, so I clicked on the "System Proxy Configuration"'s radio button and then reloaded the home page. It connected to the Internet quickly and works well. I had previously uninstalled the repository version and in the future will use 2.1.2 until Falkon is released.

      In one word: privacy.

And yes, I am aware that that word is almost an oxymoron in the internet of today. But I make a choice to move away from tools which either come from questionable developers (Google(r) and Vivaldi), or which are changing their customer service (Firefox(r) ) philosophy.

I'm not telling you what to do. If you read some of the threads on this forum and others, you might note a rising trend of negative actions and anti-privacy designs in software. Act as you see fit.

and ,,,,actually their is a Falkon snap ,,,,,

problem with the snap ,,,,,,,,it dose not see system libraries , you half to install the kde-frameworks-5 snap as well (even if your system has that) for it to work ,,,,,and spell check will not see any language dic.

it dose not follow you system theme ,,,,their may be other quirks as well ,,,,,,,,rubbish

it dose work fast and well however ,,,,,,,,,,,but we are removing it and kde-frameworks-5 snap as well ,,,,,

Me neither. Having to install a system daemon in order to install snap packages is, to me, just a way to slide down the slope into monetizing packages.

AppImages are all in one packages (or are supposed to be), not requiring anything from your system. All you do is add the execute permission and double click on it. I like that.

AppImage sounds a lot like how PC-BSD (now TrueOS) does packaging.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

I downloaded and installed Falkon and the Snap package (whatever that is, excuse my ignorance)) and presume I have the real re-named QupZilla, although all the icons on the bookmarks bar refer to QupZilla. It loaded fast, true, but I cannot import my bookmarks, not even the HTML version I saved in Desktop. Falkon can't see Desktop, or any of the other sites for Bookmarks from Google and Firefox. So I can't really say how good this browser is, as I don't want to have to reconstruct all the bookmarks I've picked up over the years. Is it worth the plunge? I think I'll wait until KDE makes it easy to import bookmarks (or until some better geek than me can give me an easy way to import bookmarks). It's fun to experiment with new software, especially when you have the time to do it (i.e. retired), but so far I'll stick with Firefox, which has been pretty dependable for me for many years.

The instructions hold true for me. I saved my bookmarks.html file from Firefox(r) in my home/twp/documents folder. Check your ownership if you saved it somewhere else (like the Desktop folder).

As I noted in the linked post, QupZilla's default directory for imports does not exist in my system hence it cannot find anything.
QupZilla offers four import options, I used the bottom (last) option to select the bookmarks.html file itself.

Test that QupZilla/Falkon can see the destination folder (like Documents).

                          You won't.

I was interested in TrueOS's implementation of openZFS. So I downloaded both the latest iso and img files, verified their checksums, used dd to burn the img to an 8GB USB stick (following their instructions to use dd on the img) rebooted it and, IMO, was teleported back in time to 2007 or earlier. It reminded me of an old Kannopix live boot up, except Konnopix never failed to reach a desktop.

The very rudimentary console Grub screen displayed two banks of about 4 options each in a 640 X 480 box. I began reading the options: 1) MultiUser Boot.... pow ... before I could read the second option the installation took off. I'm assuming it took the #1 option. A ton of text in multiple font sizes and occasional colors streamed down my console. It couldn't find my eth0 and went on to stopped at dhcpd ... but couldn't find my wireless chip and made no Internet connection. A few more screens of text flowed by and a black screen with a mouse arrow in the center (unresponsive) and a white block in the upper left corner. The classic black screen of no xserver. It couldn't even drive my primary Intel HD 3000 GPU.

I used ctrl+alt+f2 to get a terminal but it asked for a login name and password. I tried nothing, then admin & passwd, and a few other common pairs but nothing worked. Time to hit the reset button.

It claims that it has NVidia support but during the boot up I didn't see any mention of my NVidia GPU being detected.

I think I'll put Kali on the stick tomorrow.

I found a not-so-easy way of importing the bookmarks, as the importer program couldn't see anything on my home folder, not even the html bookmarks file. So what I did was to find the hidden Mozilla file in Dolphin, then the Firefox folder, and in the subfolder ma61b650.default I found the places.sqlite folder, where the bookmarks are. I then copied that to my home folder and went back to the import program. After choosing to look for the address file, I simply typed in /home/steve/ and lo and behold it appeared as hoped. I then hit next and voila! That was the easy part. My bookmarks file is an absolute mess, so I had to edit, more, delete etc. until I had a nice little file of useful bookmarks, which I then moved to the bookmarks bar. By the way I downloaded this under the name Falkon, but in the about file it's identified as QupZilla 2.1.99. I don't really care, as it works while the AppImage 2.1.2 version couldn't connect to internet, despite my having QT 5.9.1.

I hope it's worth the effort.

oldgeek; Thank You for pointing me at the location of places.sqlite. I found my copy too:

                                /home/twp/.mozilla/firefox/mwad0hks.default/places.sqlite

I wish the QupZilla/Falkon devs would move a little closer to Firefox's path usage... But it works.
