    [DESKTOP] KDE Dolphin

    Hi everyone.

My question is very simple, but I have no clue how to do it (or even how or where to look for it), and here it goes: In KDE Dolphin, when I click on a file/folder, how can I make the highlighted area (blue color on my case) reaches the whole row and not only around the name?

    Here's what I mean:

    - Atm, I have this:

    - But I want this (image done through a simple image editor):

    Thank you in advance

    Kubuntu 16.04
    KDE Plasma 5.5.5
    Dolphin 15.12.3

P.S. Not sure If I posted in the correct section. Pardon me if not.

I would be surprised if there was a way to achieve that setting in Dolphin.

Krusader does select the whole row by default. I guess that won't help if you really are stuck on Dolphin however.

You're right. I asked, thinking that it can be done but that it was me who couldn't find the option. Maybe Dolphin just can't do what I want.

Don't worry, I'm not stuck, I'm using it since it's Kubuntu's default choice (which it's not bad, but it could be better [Dolphin]). In fact, I've read some good stuff about Krusader and I was thinking of trying it. Thank you for letting me know that it does what I'm looking for; I guess it's another incentive for me to finally testing it

        Thank you both for replying.

P.S. Btw @Rod, I can't see your link since the following message appears when I click on it:

Yeah, there are some restrictions on what you can do on the forum when you first join. I can't remember just what the rules are but once you've made a few posts the restrictions are lifted. I wouldn't have thought the restrictions would prevent you viewing a link to a screenshot I posted though.

            BTW, welcome to Kubuntu Forums!

P.S. I agree that Dolphin is a fine file manager and I do use it from time to time, but I've always preferred twin-panel (orthodox) file managers and have used them since my DOS days (Norton Commander, etc). In Windows my favourite file manager was Total Commander. Krusader is one of the best twin-panel file managers I've ever used and compares very favourably with anything in Windows. Another good one is Midnight Commander (MC) and is very useful in a terminal situation too.

Tyvm for the links. Now I see more clear the situation.
Plus, I took advantage to post something in the last active report

Ty for the clarification and for the welcoming.
I already downloaded Krusader, so I'll play for a while with it to see what it can offer me.
Btw, I installed the 2.4.0 beta (which is the one in Ubuntu's repositions). Are there many differences/improvements in the last one (2.6.0) compare to this one, in your opinion?

I'm using Krusader 2.4.0 here because I'm still using Kubuntu 14.04 as my daily desktop and the latest version of Krusader isn't available in K14.04 (Plasma 5 only). I do have a virtual machine of K16.04 and recently upgraded Krusader to 2.6.0 in that. I also upgraded this install with the backports PPA which gave me the infinitely more stable (at least in my VirtualBox install) Plasma 5.8.5 (now 5.8.6) and the later Krusader version was available after that I believe. I haven't played around enough with the new version to say much about it except that the upgrade reset all my settings to the default.
