    [KDE] Wallet manager suddenly requiring password

    The wallet manager is suddenly requesting a password to open my wallet. I don't remember giving any kind of password for this in the last 5 years. What could trigger this?

    I had to delete the existing wallet (it mostly contains passwords I know by heart anyway) and create a new one, but I don't see any setting that avoids a password on it.

    Giving it an empty password effectively turns it off. At least it always has so far.

    Which version of Kubuntu are you running?
    Did this happen after an update?

      An emply KWallet 'master' password doesn't turn off KWallet; it just keeps it from prompting you for that password when ever an application that requires it's own password (and is saved in KWallet) is accessed. To stop using KWallet, you have to disable it.

        @elijathegold: OK, will try that

        @Snowhog: But I like the wallet, I just don't need a password for it...

          Same problem here, this happened after I changed the admin password.
