    Thank you for sharing. Very interesting.

    They create a “stable” and “feature frozen” product. If a major version number increases it’s not going to be updated. I just described the problem with outdated Qt, that’s part of the story. The update didn’t get into the distribution and thus fixes don’t reach our users.
    That's about Kubuntu. I think KDE Neon will have advantage over Kubuntu in this regard.

    Anyway, regarding Kubuntu: bug fixes are important, especially while Plasma 5 is not mature. I wish more new stuff could reach backports, at least for LTS releases.

      That article is what prompted me to do something I rarely do, use a ppa to update a DE.
