Existing pairing is not seen even with firewall off.

      Link?
My first thought is that you need to upgrade to a newer version of the desktop app, as the phone app and desktop versions need to match fairly closely.

      from https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...nnect_tp&hl=en :
*NOTE for Ubuntu users: The Ubuntu folks are not updating their repos as fast as this app gets updated. Some features will not work if the KDE Connect version in you desktop doesn't match the one in your phone. To make sure you always have the latest version on your desktop, use this PPA repository: https://code.launchpad.net/~vikoadi/...ve/ubuntu/ppa/

KDE libs 14.13.3, the KDE connect app itself does not have any kind of numbers.

        Android is 0.9c updated 16 September 2015

From synaptic the version is 0.5.2.1 Oubuntu

Everything is updated and I uninstalled and reinstalled on both the phone and the computer.

It "just quit" two days ago.

Yup, you need to upgrade the desktop software to 0.8, via the ppa listed on the play store page, which will help.

You also may have to remove all pairings (on both the phone and computer) and re-do that part after upgrading.

ok but it is odd that it worked Saturday and stopped a couple of days later.

              Solved

              Ok that worked.

I marked the bug at KDE bugs as resolved but also noted that the newer version was uploaded a few months ago, so, why, since I use it several times a week, did it suddenly stop a few days ago.

Just a suspicion but possibly it was because of other libraries with which it interacts which were updated ( or not updated) and that new interaction/non-interaction is what caused the situation.

so, claydoh...........EXPERT par excellance!!! ya did good again!

Maybe I need to do the werewolf thing!
