[PLASMA 5] Desktop freezes after some time

    Hi!

After upgrading to Kubuntu 15.04 and consequently to KDE 5 I am facing the problem that my desktop freezes after some time of usage. I have had many troubles when trying to switch to the new display manager sddm but finally fixed this. But now i have the really annoying the problem that after short time, say 10-20 minutes, my display freezes and I have to manually kill the display manager in command line and restart it (thus i am switching to terminal one). The keyboard and mouse is working properly, but the desktop freezes and i cannot click or make any input on the screen. I have searched so many forums, posts and bug reports but all related problems seem different to me. I have no idea what can cause the problem, it is really mysterious to me.

I am using the Kubuntu 15.04 with the newest updates, have an Nvidia graphics card and an Intel i7.

If you need more information please tell me. Any help is very appreciated!

Thank you in advance and kind regards,
    Max.

Next time it happens, switch to the TTY and then make copies of /var/log/syslog, /var/log/Xorg.0.log, and ~/.xsession-errors. Then get back to KDE and upload those copies to a pastebin. Finally, reply here with the URLs so that we can take a look at the logs.

Kubuntu 15.04 using systemd still has /var/log/syslog?
      Code:
      # journalctl -xe
      (or)
      # journalctl -br
I do not personally use Kubuntu, but I'm the tech support for my daughter who does.

        Yes, it does.

My system freezes but I can avoid it by rebooting.
So I boot up, log in and when all is settled I reboot after which there are no problems.
Wholly unacceptable for a stable release but not out of the ordinary for this one...

So I am really curious if there are others with a similar problem (and solution).

Thank you all for your replies. Freezing stopped for a while, but since my latest apt-get upgrade where all KDE programs and libs updated I am facing continuous log outs. It is really annoying since I am losing all my work when I get logged out... Don't know what to do. It would be very nice if you can have a look at my log files:

            /var/log/syslog: http://pastebin.com/bM2GgTdj
            /var/log/Xorg.0.log: http://www.pastebin.ca/3098777
            ~/.xsession-errors: http://pastebin.com/Y8xfzQWs
            dmesg: http://www.pastebin.ca/3098780

If you have any idea what can be the problem of my continuous random logouts, I would be very happy if you help me!

            Thank you and kind regards,
            max.
